Here We Are! We made it, 2011, Here We Come!

Wow, here we are with a brand new year and all sorts of great things for everyone to be excited about.

Stock markets are up, way up. The highest they have been in quite a while. New reports of massive amounts of new jobs being added and in general an amazingly better retail season this holiday.Add in the fact that many areas in Southern California already bottomed out and are on a slow rise, we all have many reasons to be excited as the prospects for the upcoming year.

With all this in the news and ringing in our ears we all need to be sure as we move forward we DO NOT take away this great advantage we have been given.

Here are some "TOP TEN" ideas you might consider for the new year:

1) Do not take out a 2nd mortgage to fund your family vacation or a brand new SUV. This gets you on Santa's Naughty List.

2) Buy what you can afford.

3) Do not carry a cc balance to the next month and pay those amazingly painful 20% interest rates. Ouch, do you really want to still be paying those when you are 90 years old?

4) Pay down those Credit Cards! Seriously, pay down your debt. Just ask Suzie. I am sure she has even more to say on that matter

5) Increase your Credit Score to over 725. Get Golden and get an 800 score!

6) If you have not already tried - try to get a refi on your home at a lower interest rate. You could save hundreds each month or 1 or 2 extra hot dogs at COSTCO.

7) If you have not already tried - try to get a refi on your car loan at a lower interest rate. Yeah, I did not say a new lease - I said on the car you are buying.

8) There is no such thing as a "Stupid Question" when you are looking after your financial well being and the future finances of your family. If you miss getting an answer and it costs you a few extra $1000 bucks down the road,....the feeling stupid may very well apply then.

9) If you are looking to sell your current home (no matter what state or where you live) contact Ken Webb (me) and let me see what I can do or have someone else do to help you out. Yes, I am a Realtor - This is My Job.

10) If you are looking to buy a home (no matter what state of where you live) contact Ken Webb (me) and let me see what I can do or have someone else do to help you out. Yes, really I am a Realtor and I only earn a paycheck when I help you accomplish your goal.

Now, off to a short and quick topic.

Those of us who are agents should not take oursleves so seriously all of the time. I know some of youy may be shocked but,..I am human and have all the issues that being human so generously shares with me.

From the days in the summer when I am running up and down hills in Laguna Beach putting signs out, yes I sweat,..alot! To the after lunch meeting where someone forgot they ate a whole lot of garlic and onions,..LOL - Was That ME?

I am now getting close to 41 so that means i have more wrinkles and gray hair. If i am not careful and I get caught up in the SoCal Beauty contest, I could end up looking like Joan Rivers just with much chunkier legs and more facial hair.

Suddenly that all sounds a bit scary ,...Joan Rivers with 5 o'clock shadow,...or is it already happening?

Take a few moments to enjoy the lighter side of life. Besides, it is only when you are able to laugh and point out your own faults that you have any standing to notice when someone else slips up and starts to look and act human.

Got it?

Good.

Serious Laughter,

Ken Webb

p.s. I am going to use this blog to also write funny stories about other agents I encounter. Watch out, you may get your 15 minutes of fame,...well,..maybe closer to 30 seconds,....
